Is it possible to complete the Pokedex without trading Emerald?
No it’s not possible. Some of the Pokemon have to be traded from other games. Other starters, gorebyss/huntail, surskit, zangoose, etc. Even among legendaries only 5 are available in the main game (Kyogre, Groudon and Rayquaza).
