As far as I know, Target Smash does not affect the time. You need to complete Classic mode under 9 minutes on hard or higher with no continues. When you battle the hands, they both appear at the same time. Reach the final stage in 9min or less when playing on hard difficulty or higher. This is harder than in Melee.
