Mystery Gift is available from the very beginning of Pokémon Sword and Shield, and you can find it by opening your X menu. You can access Mystery Gift via the X menu. From there select the option for Mystery Gift, it’s the pink present, and this will open the Mystery Gift menu.
How does mystery Gift work?
Mystery Gift is a feature in the game that allows players to redeem download codes, connect to a Poké Ball Plus, or connect wirelessly to Nintendo-sponsored events to obtain special Pokémon or items. You can select Check Mystery Gifts from the Mystery Gift menu to view the Mystery Gifts you’ve previously received.
Do you need Nintendo online for mystery Gift?
You do not have access to Mystery Gift without Nintendo Online.
How do you unlock mystery Gift in Pokemon Platinum?
On the third floor, find the man in the bottom left area and he will ask two questions. For the first question, choose “Everyone” “Happy”, then for question two, answer “Wi-fi” “Connection”. This will unlock Mystery Gift in the usual menu before you start the game.
Can you trade with yourself in Pokemon sword and shield?
You can trade with yourself but would need two phones with two different accounts.

To trade locally, you don’t need an internet connection or a Nintendo Online subscription.
Can Pokemon home gifts be shiny?
You can’t. The shiny is already pre-determined by your TID, so if your TID doesn’t match with a shiny from any starter, they won’t be shiny.

Can you get mew in sword and shield?
As Pokemon Home has yet to launch, there is no other way to get Mew in your Pokemon Sword and Shield game. When trading species from other games does become available though, you will be able to transfer Mew, as well as various other ‘mons.
Can I trade Pokemon without Nintendo online?
Best answer: No. A Nintendo Switch Online subscription is not mandatory for playing Pokémon Sword & Shield. Still, it is beneficial to have one — you won’t be able to trade Pokémon, find other players’ camps, or battle online without it.
