Dark Samus is a being of Phazon created after the dying Metroid Prime absorbed Samus’ Phazon Suit and her DNA. It had many battles with Samus during its search for Phazon on the planet Aether, and later returned as the mastermind of the Space Pirate invasion until its defeat and supposed demise on Phaaze.
Does Dark Samus speak?
Although Dark Samus never speaks in-game, she has strange echoing laughter and cries of pain that are consistent in sound during her appearances in Echoes.
