The flaw in the theory is that the first time around, Indiana (Harrison Ford), Willie, and Shorty (Ke Huy Quan) all seem to witness the actual heart removal. There’s no reason for them to be at the mercy of mass hypnosis as unknown bystanders of the event.

It’s technically “required” for the Water Temple, but there is a way to beat the Water Temple without needing to hit those eye switches by not opening the inner tower doors. Also, you do have to beat the Forest Temple before you can become a child again.
How do you get to the Shadow Temple?
To get to the Shadow Temple, you’ll need the Nocturne of Shadow and the Lens of Truth. Become an adult again if you aren’t already and when you’re ready, teleport to the Graveyard using the Nocturne of Shadow, then go on down. Here, you have to stand on the circle platform and use Din’s Fire to light all the torches.
How do you defeat moths in Woodfall Temple?
Light a Deku Stick and run forward, which will lure them over to this side of the room. Once they’re fairly close, slash your sword to stop using the Deku Stick. The Moths will then fly to the closest torch (the one on this side of the room). Toss a Bomb onto the floor or use the Blast Mask next to them to defeat them.
Where to find Deku Baba in Woodfall Temple?
Go down the ramp and you’ll find a regular Deku Baba, which, when defeated, will leave behind the third Stray Fairy. Turn around to face the opposite side of the room and you’ll see a new enemy of sorts here called a Carnivorous Lily Pad.
Where are the keys in Shadow Temple Ocarina of time?
Two in alcoves on either side of the room, and one atop a stack of logs that you have to Longshot onto, then jump off to snag. Collecting them all will open the grating on a nearby cell, which holds a chest containing a Small Key. There’s nothing else we can do in this room for now, so go on back to the previous room.
