How do you unlock the gate in the Great Maze?

Head right, drop down the shaft, and aim for an alcove on the left, where you’ll find a key. Grab it, then jump down the remainder of the shaft, head left, ride the elevator back to the floor above, then unlock the gate on the left. With the gate unlocked, attack the bomb-block beyond to clear the room.
