The game is based in Slough Creek, an area in Yellowstone National Park, Montana. As the game is based on a real area, the development of the game shows likenesses to the actual area. There is a vast river running through half of the map.

Where to go in WolfQuest 2.7 early access?
Travel north to find unoccupied turf. Note: Until Slough Creek map/episode is available for WolfQuest Anniverary Edition, Early Access for PC and Mac, this is where the story is paused. If you are playing WolfQuest 2.7, you can proceed to Slough Creek once you have found mate. Life gets easier once you have a partner!
Are there any new episodes of WolfQuest coming out?
If you like, you can keep playing at the rendezvous site, in endless summer mode, while you await the next episode “Tower Fall,” coming sometime in the future. We have released the Amethyst Mountain and Slough Creek episodes and the Lost River Classic map for PC/Mac on Steam and itch.io, as Early Access.
Where are all the WolfQuest locations in Slough?
All three can be found near their locations in the original game, but are in slightly different places and have been spruced up to look nice, fancy, and new. Saddle Meadows is where it’s always been, up within the hilltops west of First Meadow and northwest of Slough Creek.

As of January 2021, we have released two episodes: Amethyst Mountain and Slough Creek, as well as the Lost River Classic map, for PC/Mac on Steam and itch.io, as Early Access. While in Early Access, we are updating the game frequently with more features and multiplayer (available now for Amethyst Mountain and coming soon for Slough Creek).
