‘The Rising of the Shield Hero’ Season 2 is now scheduled to come out in October 2021 on Crunchyroll. The anime streaming website announced the news on its Twitter account on March 6, 2021. The news was revealed during the virtual edition of the Crunchyroll Expo for 2020.

Despite being originally frightened of Naofumi, she ends up falling in love with him and giving up everything for him. However, the complicated part comes with their romantic feelings, as Naofumi sees himself as a father figure, while Raphtalia is clearly in love with him.

The story takes its time explaining why the king hates the shield hero. At first we rationalized based on the available evidence that the shield hero was ill mannered and inconsiderate. Then we rationalize its because he lacks game knowledge about RPGs.
